Does that mean such problems need a repair in the main circuits in the scope?Ĥ. I have come to know through my search on the net and in other forums that the "brains" of the autostar in LX200 is in the base of the telescope and not in the handbox. Is this a likely problem in the handbox or the circuitry in the telescope base?ģ. Is it worth buying a handbox and try out? Not a cheap option for me!Ģ. Could not find another LX200 user to try out another handbox yet.ġ. There is no dealer in India from whom I can source a handbox. Tried with another battery and power cable Charges the battery for couple of hours again just to ensure that there was enough juice left in the batteryĨ. Checked the battery voltage and it was just over 12 voltsħ. Opened the cover at the base of the telescope to check for any loose connections/damage but did not find anyĦ. Opened the handbox to check for any obvious loose connections/damage and did not find anyĥ. Tried another cable (an ordinary telephone cable which I think should work)Ĥ. Swapped the ends of the cable connecting the handbox to the telescopeģ. Sometimes the entire display remains a pale red.Ģ. Sometimes, only the first LED segment glows bright. Surprisingly, sometimes one segment of the LED display starts glowing bright following the second, third etc in the first row of display till all the segments in the first row are glowing bright. I did the following to check if everything is fine:ġ. But when the connectino was up, there was a faint red glow but no display. There was a bit of loose connection when I had connected and I had to fiddle with the connector at the battery end to bring the scope to life. I connected the whole thing a week ago, I noticed that the handbox went blank. I have a problem with my autostar II handbox.
